In a serendipitous moment in 2012 I was inspired to google “lose weight with yoga,” and found a DVD called “Fat Free Yoga” by Ravi Singh and Ana Brett. The DVD instructed me to do this strange breath and make these peculiar motions with my arms. I felt a little awkward. But I also felt intrigued. Could holding my arms in this position and breathing this way really help me lose weight? I became curious about Ravi and Ana’s other work. So I ordered another DVD. Then I ordered another… until I had them all. Soon my husband started practicing with me. I was flabbergasted when after our practice one day he casually walked over to his phone and called his father and effortlessly laid everything out on the line with clarity and perfection. I was in awe of this practice and of my teachers.
Destiny knocked in 2016 when my hero, Ravi Singh, came to my city to teach a class and he decided to hold a teacher training. In my city!
