What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan® is  designed to give you “hands on” experience of your highest  consciousness. It teaches a method by which you can achieve the sacred purpose of your life. It is universal and nondenominational and is called a sacred science
Kundalini Yoga is much more than just a system of physical exercises. It is a dynamic, powerful tool for expanding awareness.
What Does Kundalini Mean?
The Kundalini is untapped energy (prana) at the base of the spine that can be drawn up through the body awakening each of the seven chakras. The  word "kundalini" represents a  coiled serpent, who through yoga  techniques, can uncoil and bring awareness of the universe to the  practitioner.
Benefits of Kundalini Yoga
The practice of Kundalini Yoga balances the glandular system,  strengthens the nervous system, and enables us to harness the energy of  the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather  than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. This technology combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures in a precise, conscious manner to affect body, mind, and soul.
The list of very real benefits from regularly practicing Kundalini  Yoga is very long. But, really, what matters most to you is your  experience. To acquire a real understanding  of Kundalini Yoga, do it, experience it for yourself! There are many benefits to Kundalini Yoga, and ultimately each person's experience is unique.  Some benefits include spiritual growth, physical fitness, improved well being, and clearer thinking. Kundalini Yoga has been called the yoga of awareness. Kundalini kriyas, which may lead to a greater knowledge of the self, can reduce a yogi's attachment to many worries, allowing for healthier thoughts. Kundalini yoga may also help people reduce attachments to unhealthy habits that limit clear thinking, such as drug and alcohol abuse. Yogi Bhajan emphasizes that Kundalini should integrate yogis more deeply with reality. Through this increased awareness of reality, yogis are supposed to exist more efficiently, with an understanding of their abilities, thereby developing confidence in their purpose and life goals.
Is Kundalini Yoga for You?
Kundalini Yoga is a yoga for householders, for people who have to  cope with the daily challenges and stresses of holding jobs, raising  families, and managing businesses. Kundalini Yoga is for everyone who  wants the skills to cope successfully with the challenges of living in  this day and age.

Sacred Current Event at Prama Institute
Our theme "Sacred Current" represents the ether tattva. Tattva's, translate into elements, and represent the things we are made of: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Ether. The Throat Chakra is linked with the element of Ether. The origin of Ether is the Shabd – the primordial, unmanifested sound; the energy that is the precursor for sound. Ether has no limits – it is without form or boundaries. Ether and the vibration that creates sound are inseparable; the voice is Ether’s organ of action.

Quantum physics has confirmed what the ancients have known – that there is a subtle energy that exists within and outside of us and connects all things. What can we do with this information? We can perceive that subtle energy as the loving arms of eternity that unconditionally nourish and sustain us.

The quality of Universal Truth is manifested through the Throat Chakra. Universal Truth, which exists beyond the form of subjectivity, possesses the same supportive omnipresence as the element Ether. As we embrace this Tattva, we surrender to the ultimate awareness: All truths united equal One Truth. All spirits united equal One Spirit.
